LIFE AWAY
Hello everyone! I’m pleased to share with you my latest project, which I tweaked to reach a higher level of graphic quality. This project was a process of exploring and learning about surreal illustration, imaginary and fantastic worlds.

From the beginning, I knew this project would be a challenge as I wanted to create a striking image that combined organic and natural elements with artificial objects in a desert environment. I used references as a starting point and began playing with composition lines and sketches to get a general idea of where to begin.

One of my main challenges was to create the necessary depth so that the camera could give an effect of remoteness between two planets that are in space. The main planet looks deserted, but there are still traces of life. Therefore, I started my process in Blender, creating the desert dunes, the background planet and the tree. With Geometry Nodes, I tried to create a random generation of the energy pillars. It took me some time to be able to achieve this and be satisfied with the result.

Finally, I made the finishing touches in Photoshop. I made use of IDs I took from Blender to have more control over my editing process and to be able to make small adjustments to better integrate the render with the final composition, using the concepts and ideas that came to me.

I am extremely satisfied with the outcome of this project. I was able to develop it exactly as I had imagined. Working on elements like this is something I am sure I will continue to enjoy, as it provides the opportunity to explore new resources and achieve perhaps surreal results that can transport the viewer to landscapes reminiscent of Earth, yet combined with elements from other universes.
